No, the Korean in the north has more Chinese influence (for example, look at the numbers used in the North and South). Also this is a bit more arbitrary but obviously the Korean language in the south has much more western influence. But I’m definitely not an expert

+acrazyjew Yes, the language is generally the same, however there are some dialectal differences. I can't say whether the language is as difficult as you say it is, but I do plan to learn it someday regardless.
